Float Phlebotomist II

Duration: 3+ Months

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to perform blood collection procedures and specimen processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, excellent patient interaction, and experience handling specimens while ensuring compliance with laboratory and safety standards.

• Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify laboratory requisitions and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Ensure proper specimen storage and transportation while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record maintenance data.
• Read laboratory results to respond to inquiries as appropriate.
• Comply with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations.
• Attend required departmental training sessions.

• Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
• Experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection independently.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (where required).
• 2-4 years of overall related experience preferred.
