Actuarial Position In Tampa Health PracticeMilliman's Tampa Health Practice is looking for an actuary with extensive pricing and bid-setting experience in Medicare Advantage. The position requires strong actuarial capabilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and organizational talents. A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to lead a team of professionals. The staff consists of actuarial professionals in addition to healthcare consultants, administrative, and other non-actuarial staff.You Will Have the Opportunity toPerform analysis of healthcare dataWrite reports that explain technical concepts clearly to a non-technical audienceManage projects through completion within an expected budgetSupervise actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries in the completion of technical aspects of actuarial projectsTo be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:Professional QualificationsBachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related fieldFSA designationFive or more years of professional healthcare actuarial experience leading teams and developing significant projects in Medicare Advantage. Experience in other areas, such as Affordable Care Act pricing and reserving will be considered a plus.Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Outlook toolsSome knowledge of SAS, SQL, or PythonSome experience with AI tools, such as Visual Studio Code or Microsoft CopilotStrong understanding of the US healthcare systemDemonstrable skills in presenting technical concepts to a non-technical audience in an understandable wayPersonal QualificationsExcellent communication, both verbal and writtenAbility to work both independently and in team environmentsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentLocationCandidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Tampa, Florida on a weekly basis, but remote work arrangements will be considered.CompensationThe overall range for this role is $103,500 - $214,840.
