Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. This role will involve managing projects across treatment, pumping, pipeline, drainage and associated civil engineering works, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.


You will take overall responsibility for project planning, programming, commercial performance, risk management and stakeholder coordination. Duties will include developing delivery strategies, managing design and construction activities, monitoring progress against key milestones, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and environmental requirements. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, leading project meetings and providing clear, accurate reports on progress, costs, risks and opportunities. The role will also involve reviewing technical information, supporting procurement and contract administration, managing change control, and ensuring that health, safety and environmental objectives are embedded throughout each project.


Applicants should have proven experience managing water, wastewater or major civil engineering projects, ideally within a regulated utilities or infrastructure environment. A strong understanding of project delivery methods, construction processes, commercial controls and relevant contracts is essential. You will be an organised and confident communicator with the ability to manage competing priorities, build effective relationships and make sound decisions in a demanding delivery environment. A recognised qualification in project management, construction or civil engineering is desirable, together with relevant professional membership or formal project management accreditation. The ability to interpret technical drawings, programmes and financial information, alongside a proactive approach to risk and problem-solving, will be key to success. A full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites may also be required.
