Staff Engineer II

As a Staff Engineer II, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on a wide variety of transportation projects while gaining hands‑on experience and exposure to the full project lifecycle. About The Role In this role, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation projects that serve local communities and clients across the country. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and collaborate across disciplines including Water Resources, Structural, Municipal Services, and Construction. Because we're a close-knit team, you'll receive direct mentorship, meaningful project responsibilities, and opportunities to continue growing your technical expertise. What You Will Be Doing Support the planning, design, and delivery of roadway, highway, and intersection improvement projects Assist in preparing roadway plans, specifications, and technical reports Support storm sewer, culvert, and drainage infrastructure design for transportation projects Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to evaluate drainage systems and develop infrastructure solutions Assist with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activitiesConduct field investigations and support construction-phase activities Communicate with project teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to deliver successful projects You Might Be a Great Fit If You are eager to continue developing your technical skills and expanding your project experience You enjoy solving problems and seeing how your work impacts communities You value mentorship and learning from experienced engineers You enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams You are looking for a company that offers long‑term career growth and leadership opportunities What You Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within six months 4 years of civil engineering experience with roadway or drainage experience preferred Experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, OpenRoads Designer, or related engineering software is a plus Strong communication and collaboration skills A desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibilities Why HR Green For more than 110 years, HR Green has partnered with clients and communities to deliver infrastructure solutions that improve lives.
