The role requires managing a high-volume environment and may serve as a technical referral resource for less experienced Associate Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants. The Underwriter uses judgment and discretion within authority levels delegated by the Vice President of Underwriting and CEO of MEC. This position is remote. Technical Assistant – St. Augustine, FL The Technical Assistant provides data processing support for underwriters and associate underwriters. Duties include working with underwriting teams to understand renewal programs, creating and managing data records within the Agency Management System, processing insurance policies, assisting with underwriting activities, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. All support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with the business unit’s customer‑service focus. This is a hybrid position located in St. Augustine, FL. Professional Lines Broker – Wexford, PA A Professional Lines Renewal Broker is responsible for producing executive liability, professional services, and cyber liability accounts on a wholesale basis received from the retail brokerages appointed with McGowan across the USA. The focus is on the renewal of existing policies that comprise the Professional and Management Liability book of the Pittsburgh Branch of McGowan Wholesale. This production role is not directly responsible for retail broker management, business development, or marketing. The candidate may provide internal oversight and training of technical assistants and offer cross‑training to support other members of the Professional Liability team. This is a hybrid position located in Wexford, PA. Senior Underwriter – Remote As part of the McGowan Transportation team, the Senior Underwriter will grow knowledge and experience in meaningful ways.
