ENGINEERING INTERN

Durability Engineers is seeking a curious, proactive, and detail-driven Structural Engineering Intern with a strong interest in concrete materials, construction technology, and nondestructive evaluation. Support hands-on forensic investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations alongside experienced engineers. Assist in the application of nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques, instrumentation setup, and data collection. Conduct field data analysis and research technical issues related to material science and structural behavior. Review project documents, technical standards, and material specifications under supervision. Assist with structural calculations and preparation of sketches, figures, and report drafts. QUALIFICATIONS Currently enrolled in or planning to pursue a Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering. Strong academic performance in engineering fundamentals. Demonstrated interest in concrete technology, materials science, or structural analysis. Enthusiastic about hands-on learning and solving complex problems in the field and lab. Excellent communication skills and a proactive work ethic. REQUIREMENTS Ability and willingness to travel for site visits and testing activities. Ability to work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied environments. Able to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment up to 50 lbs. Medically fit for use of respiratory protection and PPE. Verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. LOCATION This position is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where our team collaborates and serves clients in the region and beyond. While a Grand Rapids location is preferred, we are open to flexible arrangements for the right candidate.
