ILD Sales Consultant I/II/Sr. - Hoboken, NJ Territory includes: Newark, Jersey City, Hackensack, Ft Lee, Englewood, Clifton, Paterson. The Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Sales Consultant is responsible for implementing the Boehringer Ingelheim ILD sales and marketing plans to ensure maximum distribution and market penetration of Boehringer ILD products within company guidelines, policies, and directives. The consultant will conduct business with key ILD clinics and targeted pulmonologists, rheumatologists, radiologists, advanced practice clinicians, and allied healthcare professionals. Additional responsibilities include sales activities in teaching and community hospitals, federal and military hospitals. Travel may include overnight stays and occasional night and weekend ILD meetings. Duties & Responsibilities Maintain and utilize ILD product knowledge and selling skills to influence targeted ILD health care professionals. Execute brand strategies and business plans to ensure consistent company sales and marketing messages. Plan pre‑call activities and conduct follow‑up discussions to support ILD HCP needs. Build network development, communication, and trust with ILD HCPs using appropriate sales training techniques. Establish business plans for territory needs, working with internal support personnel. Analyze territory data to optimize ILD HCP calls and react to local market conditions. Develop plans to maximize regional and national speaker programs and other marketing initiatives. Use sales data for planning, monitor literature use, and maintain accurate records, completing all administrative responsibilities timely. Identify and develop regional and national ILD thought leaders and advocates, providing feedback and follow‑up. Manage budgets and program resources within Boehringer ILD standards. Ensure compliance with regulations (EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and company policy. Provide consistent, timely, and complete administrative duties, including expense and call reports. Own personal development, develop a plan, and complete bi‑annual review with Associate Director. Requirements Candidate will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. ILD Sales Consultant I Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum three (3) years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience; 2+ years of specialty/pulmonary experience preferred. Strong communication skills. Ability to translate key scientific information to ILD customers. Travel with overnight stays and some weekend programs. ILD Sales Consultant II Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum five (5) years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience with a minimum of three (3) years specialty/pulmonary experience. Strong communication skills. Ability to translate key scientific information to ILD customers. Travel with overnight stays and some weekend programs. Sr. ILD Sales Consultant Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum seven to ten (7‑10) years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience with a minimum of five to seven (5‑7) years specialty/pulmonary experience. Track record of working within a high‑performing team and cross‑functional matrix environment. Excellent communication, objective‑setting, and influencing skills. Experience with account management, HUB services, clinical educators, and specialty pharmacies. Ability to travel (overnight, 10‑50% of time depending on geography). Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant applications. Strong communication skills and ability to translate key scientific information to ILD customers. Eligibility Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Willing to take a drug test and post‑offer physical (if required). 18 years of age or older. Compensation Data Base salary ranges: ILD Sales Consultant I: $95,000 – $153,000. ILD Sales Consultant II: $110,000 – $178,000. Sr. ILD Sales Consultant: $125,000 – $200,000. The position may be eligible for role‑specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements.
