Purchasing Agent

Overview Steel Dynamics - Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors. Responsibilities Source, qualify, and audit suppliers of consumables for the Mill. Monitor inventories and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure steady and healthy flows. Analyze markets to assess and manage risks and opportunities. Work with operations to address any quality and delivery issues with suppliers. Assist accounting in monthly inventory audits. Assist operating departments with tasks as assigned. Qualifications 4 year college degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar 5 - 8 years of relevant work experience Relevant core competencies required: effective negotiator, organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying practical analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills.
