Job Summary The Office of Medical Education at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine seeks a Specialty Liaison to support the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) curriculum. The role oversees inpatient immersion experiences, develops protocols, recruits mentors, and develops specialty‑specific didactic content for a decade‑long transition to an LIC model. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate inpatient immersion experiences for all LIC students at the LIC site. Develop protocols and systems to facilitate longitudinal patient care for students, including follow‑up of patients admitted for inpatient treatment. Recruit and oversee preceptors who work with students longitudinally. Provide ongoing education of faculty and housestaff regarding student roles in patient care and best practices in teaching LIC students. Offer faculty development to preceptors concerning longitudinal precepting, mentoring, and assessment skills. Collaborate with Clinical Core Directors to ensure LIC students achieve competency in all required domains. Develop specialty‑specific didactic content in collaboration with CCD and Basic Science Content Directors. Facilitate or teach specialty‑specific didactic sessions throughout the year. Assist with regular assessment of students, including observation, identification of students needing support, remediation planning, gathering assessments and feedback, creating summary reports, and participating in grading meetings. Administer the LIC program at the site as needed. Other Expectations All liaisons must engage in direct student teaching as an LIC preceptor. Attend monthly LIC site meetings. Attend monthly CCD specialty liaison meetings. Respond to email and text communications in a timely manner. Engage with School of Medicine information technology platforms and learning management systems. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Terminal degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Board‑certified physician. Ability to obtain faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (position level based on experience). Preferred Qualifications Program management and coordination skills. Strong communication and collaboration with students, faculty, and leadership. Experience in medical education and curriculum development. Experience working effectively with blended teams. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent written and oral communication. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across multidisciplinary teams. Deep understanding of clinical education models and clinical curricula. Ability to cultivate relationships with teachers who inspire students and support life‑long learning. Benefits Full compensation package including health plans, retirement contributions, and generous leave. Compensation capped at $250,000 annually subject to current salary. Pay Range Salary ranges vary by rank and are capped at $250,000 annually. Specific ranges: Instructor: up to $75,000 (0.05‑0.3 FTE) plus benefits. Senior Instructor: up to $75,000 plus benefits. Assistant Professor: up to $75,000 plus benefits. Associate Professor: up to $75,000 plus benefits. Professor: up to $75,000 plus benefits.
