Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, and support newborn care.
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns, maternal vital signs, contractions, and overall labor progression; respond to changes and obstetric emergencies as part of the care team.
- Administer medications and therapies per orders; manage IVs, pain relief measures, and other delivery-related treatments; assist with procedures as needed.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR system (EPIC/Stork); participate in care coordination, handoffs, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, nursing colleagues, and ancillary teams; assist with operating room activity for cesarean deliveries; support breast-feeding initiation and postpartum education.
- Maintain unit readiness, promote safety, and adhere to unit protocols; participate in on-call and float coverage as required.

Requirements
- Active RN license in New York and Nursys license verification; ALL RN licenses must be active; RTO (request time off) must be included at submission.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP required.
- EMR experience: EPIC/Stork.
- Experience: 4–5 years of obstetrics/L&D nursing experience.
- Travel experience required; will take locals at the local rate (less than 75 miles).
- Unit requires openness to 12-hour variable shifts, working both days and nights, and floating to support staffing needs.
