Job Opportunity – Neuroscience Intermediate Care Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week assignment, day shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend and every other holiday rotation, 1:3 patient ratio

Highlights:

• 12-bed specialty unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the intermediate care level
• Diverse patient populations including neuro trauma, subarachnoid/intraventricular/intracerebral hemorrhage, post-operative spine patients, ENT tumor resection and flap reconstruction, and neurological disorders
• Epic EMR system experience required
• 24 hours of orientation provided with up to 16 non-billable hours for specialty-specific modules
• Maximum 40 hours of approved time off during contract period
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

• Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Neuroscience stepdown or progressive care unit experience strongly preferred
• Must be willing to float within scope of practice per facility policy
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
