A well respected teaching hospital in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a Board Certified physician with extensive Addiction Medicine experience. The full-time locum tenens opportunity is available immediately and ongoing until a permanent physician is hired. The comprehensive addiction program provides compassionate care to individuals who are addicted to substances such as alcohol or narcotics and includes in hospital care for withdrawal management, an intensive outpatient program and ongoing groups and counseling for patients and family members. The inpatient SECAP unit oversees the withdrawal management for patients, which typically takes three days and requires hospitalization. A physician is on-site each day starting at 9 am to participate in the multidisciplinary team meeting, followed by patient rounds, documentation and billing. Typically a provider is done by 12 noon or 1 pm and is then available via page for emergencies or admissions.
