Role Description The Litigation Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling complex commercial and insurance-related litigation matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, managing case files, organizing discovery materials, and maintaining accurate records in both electronic and physical formats. The role involves coordinating scheduling and calendaring for hearings, depositions, deadlines, and meetings, as well as communicating with courts, clients, and other parties as needed. The Litigation Legal Assistant will assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management to ensure efficient case progression. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, with a combination of in-office work and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and Legal Assistance, with experience supporting litigation attorneys or working in a law firm environment.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and revising pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other case-related documents.
- Skilled in Administrative Assistance, including file organization, data entry, document management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with Calendaring, managing litigation deadlines, court dates, depositions, and meetings using legal or office calendar systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
- Prior litigation experience and an associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent relevant experience are preferred.
