Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
- Proven experience developing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability to diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Previous classroom teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized learning plans tailored to students’ unique strengths and needs
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom climate
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively provided
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary
- Communicate regularly with families to share updates, celebrate successes, and address concerns
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state special education requirements
- Create a positive, nurturing environment that motivates students and encourages their growth academically, socially, and emotionally
