Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with a patient ratio of 1:5 - Proficient in charting using Meditech - Skills in accessing/managing ports - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Cardiac telemetry - Central line care/management - Management of dysrhythmias - Telemetry monitoring Description: Nurses on this unit care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems. The patient population includes cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary, and more. As a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for coordinating direct patient care and education. You will manage patients diagnosed with conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, stroke, and chronic respiratory failure. You will perform special procedures, including insulin drips for DKA, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and other cardiac care procedures. You will engage in multidisciplinary support with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. This role requires a commitment to adhering to safety protocols and standards of care. Weekend coverage is required every other Saturday with Sundays off.
