Accounting Assistant (60617)

ARISE is looking for an Accounting Assistant Position Summary : Supports department with daily needs and specifically support Accounts Payable position with ability to provide coverage as needed. Position Responsibilities :
Hours and days: Monday-Friday 8:00am -4:00pm
Compensation: $18.00 -$20.00 per hour
Non -Exempt 40 hours per week, including one-hour paid lunch
- Prepares bank deposits and delivers to bank
- Assists with offsite vendor payments to Spectrum, AT&T, and possible various others as needed
- Distribution of weekly accounts payable checks
- Vendor maintenance and upkeep in AP software
- Back up for Accounts payable coding, invoice entry, check and ACH distribution.
- Month end report distribution
- Filing, scanning
- Various month end /year end closing tasks
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in working with numbers
- Ability to view computer screens for several hours at a time
- Ability to problem solve
- Excellent communication skills
- Prefer 2-3 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping work
- Proficiency with Excel, data entry, and computer technology
