Corporate Controller

Job Overview
Search Solution Group is seeking a Corporate Controller on behalf of our client, a growing law firm. This strategic leadership role is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations while driving financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and process improvements. The Corporate Controller will partner closely with executive leadership to build scalable financial processes, mentor the accounting team, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that supports the firm's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accountability across all financial operations.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of bookkeepers and payroll professionals.
• Manage the month-end close process and ensure timely preparation of financial statements.
• Prepare, analyze, and present Profit & Loss statements and other key financial reports.
• Develop, manage, and improve the company's budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Strengthen internal controls and implement best practices across accounting operations.
• Improve financial documentation, accounting procedures, and operational workflows.
• Lead the transition of additional accounts payable and bill pay functions back in-house.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Build scalable accounting processes that support organizational growth and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements Include Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• MBA and/or CPA designation is preferred.

Experience

• 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous experience as a Controller or senior-level accounting leader preferred.
• Experience managing accounting teams and developing finance staff.
• Proven success leading month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control initiatives.
