X-Ray Technologist - 3x12 Schedule - On Call

Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM - 6 PM, Friday: 8 AM - Noon. On call with 2-3 shifts per month.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated X-Ray Technologist to perform radiographic imaging procedures. This role requires meticulous attention to patient care, technical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' identity and review physician orders prior to procedures.
• Utilize x-ray equipment to take radiographic images as per physician instructions.
• Explain x-ray procedures to patients and address their inquiries.
• Position patients appropriately for imaging, which may involve lifting or assisting patients with limited mobility.
• Ensure safe and proper handling of radiologic equipment, minimizing patient exposure.
• Observe patients' status and interpret age-specific needs during imaging procedures.
• Produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation and maintain accurate patient records.
• Notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New York State license (or ability to obtain before starting).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technologist, with Level 1 trauma center experience required.
• Experience using C-Arm/O-Arm within the last 8 months.
• Recent operating room experience is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
