Tech - Sterile Processing Tech

$1468.80/week - Job Summary: Processes and sterilizes surgical and hospital instruments and equipment to ensure safety and operational readiness. Supports surgical teams by assembling instrument sets and distributing supplies efficiently. Responsibilities: Decontaminates and processes instruments, including compiling sets and recording counts to maintain accuracy. Sterilizes instruments, trays, and basins using appropriate exposure and drying times. Prepares instruments for immediate use sterilization when necessary to meet surgical timelines. Maintains a clean and organized environment by daily cleaning of counters, sinks, autoclaves, and high disinfection equipment. Performs diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, including biological indicators and cycle evaluations. Assists with room turnover, terminal cleaning of operating suites, and responds to departmental needs as directed. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required; associate or technical degree preferred. Current Sterile Processing Technician certification required. At least two years of recent experience in sterile processing or related field. Current BLS certification required; valid nursing license as per state requirements preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of sterilization procedures, infection control standards, and equipment maintenance.
