$1,500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR NON CDL OPERATORS

JAUNT is hiring for fulltime NON-CDL Bus Operators. NO CDL REQUIRED BUT MUST OBTAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF HIRE Jaunt's operators are responsible for operating transit service vehicles to include transit vans, up to 28 passenger buses used in public transportation in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County including Nelson Co., Greene Co., Fluvanna Co., Buckingham Co., and Louisa Co. Jaunt's operators assume responsibility for the safety of our customers and equipment and performs routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper operations. They communicate appropriate information to customers, supervisors, and peers. Jaunt's operators oversee the safety of passengers, resolve problems, and provide outstanding customer service. They arrive on time and work independently with minimal supervision. NO CDL REQUIRED BUT MUST OBTAIN WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT. Responsibilities Operates a transit vehicle to pick up, transport, and discharge passengers while adhering to route schedule. Maintains a pleasant and courteous demeanor. Performs a pre-trip inspection and post-trip on transit vehicles for mechanical problems. Maintains radio contact with dispatchers to report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, interruption in service. Adheres to all safety rules and regulations. Maintains a professional appearance and observes operator dress code (safety vest, Jaunt shirt). Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge and Skills High School Diploma or GED A valid Virginia Driver's license and positive point balance. Ability to operate vehicle under safest possible conditions. Ability to successfully complete operator 4‑week training course. Ability to use good judgement and common sense in making quick, safe decisions with minimal supervision and adapt to constantly changing operating conditions. Ability to listen, understand, and carry out the information, ideas, and direction presented verbally or electronically by dispatcher or Road Supervisors. SIGN ON BONUS pay out schedule $500.00 once training is completed $500.00 6 months after hire. $500.00 after 1 year of successful employment SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and passing a pre‑employment drug screen. Employment is contingent on a clean driving record that allows employee to be covered by Jaunt's insurance. Continued employment is contingent upon adherence to Jaunt's Substance Abuse Policy, as well as on maintaining a clean driving record.
