Associate Scientist, Post Doc Fellow- Viral Immunology & Antibody Discovery

Postdoctoral position in viral immunology focused on monoclonal antibody discovery and characterization. The fellow will isolate novel antibodies from human samples, perform epitope mapping, and characterize functional properties to inform vaccine development at Merck's West Point, PA site.
Responsibilities
- Isolate and discover novel monoclonal antibodies from primary human samples
- Perform epitope mapping and functional characterization of antibodies against viral pathogens
- Execute immunological and molecular biology assays to define antigenic sites
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to generate insights for next-generation vaccine design
- Analyze data and prepare findings for peer-reviewed publication
Requirements
- PhD in Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or related field (or receipt by spring 2027)
- Hands-on experience with epitope mapping and antibody-based antigenic characterization
- Proficiency in immunological assays including ELISA and neutralization assays
- Experience with protein interaction analysis techniques such as Octet/BLI or SPR
- Demonstrated competency in aseptic cell culture with primary human cells
- Strong molecular biology skills including PCR, cloning, and transfection
- Ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments with strong data analysis and publication record
Compensation: $82,000-$92,000
