Role Description The Staff Attorney will work on-site in Lexington, KY in a full-time capacity, supporting the firm's litigation and related practice areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence, and providing clear, practical legal advice to clients under the supervision of senior attorneys. The role involves case management, including reviewing medical and accident reports, preparing discovery, and assisting with trial preparation. The Staff Attorney will participate in negotiations with opposing counsel and insurers, attend hearings and depositions as needed, and collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to advance clients' cases. The position requires consistent, empathetic communication with clients and maintaining accurate, timely documentation in all matters. Qualifications Strong foundational knowledge of Law, with the ability to analyze statutes, case law, and regulations relevant to personal injury and civil litigation. Experience or coursework in personal injuyr law. Proficiency in providing clear Legal Advice, including explaining legal options, risks, and strategies to clients in an accessible manner. Effective Negotiation skills for working with opposing counsel, insurance adjusters, and other parties to pursue favorable settlements. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Kentucky (or eligibility for prompt admission). Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong drafting, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, collaborate in a team environment, and maintain client confidentiality and professionalism.
