Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Learning Behavior Specialist supporting 4th and 5th-grade students in a dynamic onsite setting. This contract position spans the full school year, offering a chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ academic growth and social development. Working from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, you will serve a small caseload in a welcoming, collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading instruction in a self-contained classroom for reading and math, working closely with 11 fifth-graders and 6 fourth-graders for reading, and supporting 8 fifth-graders and 5 fourth-graders for math.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals, with a central focus on literacy and numeracy skills.
• Encouraging integration with general education peers during specials, lunch, recess, and social studies/science, fostering positive relationships and inclusion.
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s needs.
• Communicating progress and strategies to families, empowering them as partners in their child's education.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with all state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement required.
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or Learning Behavior Specialist preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
