Make a real difference in the lives of students by providing specialized support in a self-contained classroom environment near Chicago, IL. This contract position is open for experienced Special Education Teachers passionate about helping young learners grow and succeed. The opportunity includes working with either Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students or with those in grades 4 through 5. You’ll play a vital part in fostering both academic and personal development for children with exceptional needs.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Classroom experience, preferably in a self-contained or specialized instruction setting
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Motivated, adaptable, and committed to helping every student achieve their potential

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver individualized and group instruction based on IEP goals
• Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
• Collaborate with support staff, administration, and families to best serve student needs
• Monitor, assess, and document each student’s progress
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs
• Manage classroom routines while fostering independence and confidence
