Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Shift: 4x12 Days/Nights rotation 0700-1900 / 1900-0700 Every other weekend required

Contract Length: 13 weeks (possible extension)

Requirements:

• NY RN license
• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Required patient ratio experience: 1:6
• Must be able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 on Med/Surg
• Charge experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (valid NIHSS must be included with submittal)
• Epic experience required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry/dysrhythmia recognition and management.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response and Code teams when necessary.
• Provide care for patients with temporary and permanent pacemakers
• Start IVs and manage peripheral, PICC, and central lines.
• Administer blood products and manage feeding tubes, heparin protocols, and drips (no titration).
• Ensure appropriate respiratory support, including management of high-flow nasal cannula and tracheostomy care.
• Manage post-operative care for orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patients, including wound care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• RTO: cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days RTO
• Background checks reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Return-staff policy: 1 year
