Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM; work is performed on-site and in person.

Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a "U.S. Citizen".

Job Story

The University's Parking & Transportation Services has an opening for a 1st shift Parking Enforcement Specialist. This position also comes with a robust benefits package (effective on your first day) and generous paid time off.

Job Summary

Performs parking compliance work, safeguarding property owned or leased by the University by monitoring and patrolling parking areas for violations and escorting or transporting individuals to specific locations.

Essential Functions
• Conducts daily monitoring of parking lots for parking violations and issuing parking citations.
• Assists in set up and tear down of parking lot reservations and special event needs. Set up and move cones, barricades, parking signs, and VMS (Variable Message Sign) trailers, as needed.
• Patrol assigned areas, respond to motorist assistance situations, and observe and report special hazards.
• Perform simple vehicle maintenance procedures and report mechanical problems to leadership.

Job Duties

• Provides mobility assistance rides for students, faculty and staff on campus as needed.
• Assists UPD in performing traffic control duties.
• Calls upon University police officers to assist with police-related tasks/functions, as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• None

Required License/Certifications/Training:

• Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six (6) months of hire date.
• Valid drivers license

• Must not have been convicted of, plead guilty or no contest to, or been diverted on a serious traffic violation within the past three years of date of application. Serious traffic violations to include, but not limited to vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, hit and run, and eluding a police officer.
• Must not have received three moving violations during the last twelve months or been involved in two accidents for which they were at fault during the past twelve months.
• Must not be currently charged with, under indictment, or on probation for any criminal activity other than minor traffic violations.
