Union Data Center OSP Lead Technician

What you’ll do Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location. Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions. (Cold, Snow, Rain and heat). Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a Data Center environment. Experience in fiber splicing and testing. Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement. Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders. Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness. Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices. Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules. Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies. What you’ll need Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools. Must be capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians. Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements. Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her. Clear understanding of job safety requirements. Be able to read and understand project design documents. Ability to install various types of innerduct (EX: Maxcell, 1.25" ID and Microduct) and fiber optic cable. Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs. Possess skills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations. Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting. Track and review timesheets for your crew. Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent Track lessons learned as they occur Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out Identify the strengths and weaknesses of crew members Must be able to driver company vehicles and the ability to pull and back up trailers. Must be able to blow fiber optic cables. High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job‑related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work. Communication skills to exchange straightforward information. Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and manage work orders through a CMMS. Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. Compensation CBRE/Direct Line carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Logistics Manager position is $75,000 annually [or $36.06 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Logistics Manager position is $90,000 annually [or $43.27 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
