Location: Indianapolis, IN
Compensation: $125,000-$150,000 depending on experience
About the Opportunity
A growing construction contractor on the north side of Indianapolis is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and financial operations. This position will partner closely with ownership and operations to drive profitability, cash flow, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
- Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability analysis
- Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow forecasts
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit/tax coordination
- Ensure compliance with construction accounting, insurance, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial processes
- Support leadership with financial insights and decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of accounting leadership experience in construction
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based accounting
- Experience managing cash flow in a contractor environment
- Proficiency with construction ERP/accounting software
