Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager with a specialty in Shipping to join our team. This role is remote, but requires approximately 25% travel for site visits, carrier meetings, inspections, and operational coordination.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in domestic and international shipping operations, thrives in a fastpaced environment, and can manage complex logistics challenges with confidence and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize daily shipping operations for petroleum products and related materials.
- Coordinate freight scheduling, carrier selection, and shipment tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international shipping regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and safety records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast shipping needs and maintain inventory flow.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and logistics partners.
- Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Travel to facilities, ports, carrier offices, and operational sites as needed (approx. 25%).
- Resolve shipping delays, discrepancies, and operational issues promptly.
- 5+ years of logistics management experience with a strong focus on shipping operations, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Petroleum, chemical, or industrial supply chain experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, and international shipping regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problemsolving skills.
- Proficiency with logistics software and shipment tracking systems.
- Comfortable with remote work and periodic travel.
