Certificated Academic Specialist - Elementary Grades(PE)

REPORTS TO:

Site Principal Salary and Assignment Duties: Professional Expert "Specialist" Assignment Guide Requirements: Valid California Single Subject PE credential or PE Authorization granted by the CTC. Description: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction for all TK–5 students. Provide one 30-minute physical education lesson per class each week that is developmentally appropriate, age- and grade-level aligned, and designed to build fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Prepare, organize, inspect, and maintain physical education equipment and instructional spaces to ensure a safe learning environment. Follow district safety procedures and respond appropriately to student health and safety needs during instruction. Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support school-wide wellness initiatives, special events, and programs that promote physical activity. Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and other duties related to the physical education program as assigned. This is a part time exempt employee position (8 hours/week).
