Interim Sr. Accountant or IC Accounting Manager

Interim Senior Accountant Our client, a high-growth technology company, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to support the monthly close process and ongoing accounting operations during a transition period. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in their office in San Francisco, CA, and is expected to last 3 months. Responsibilities: Support monthly close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries and accruals Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner Support payroll-related accounting, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations Assist with equity-related accounting and maintain supporting schedules Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations Support commissions accounting, including accruals and related analysis Partner cross-functionally with payroll, FP&A, and revenue teams to ensure accurate financial reporting Maintain general ledger data integrity and support transaction processing and reporting Support ad hoc analysis and reporting tied to close and accounting operations Assist with broader accounting initiatives and process improvements as needed Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and operational accounting processes Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations Exposure to payroll, equity, or commissions accounting preferred Strong Excel or spreadsheet skills Experience working with accounting systems and tools Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
