As a software engineer you’ll collaborate with our Maintenance, Flight Ops, Ground Service Equipment, and Data teams as well as work directly with our customers. This role requires equal parts engineering depth and interpersonal skill: you will build trust with non-technical stakeholders, translate ambiguous problems into clear technical designs, and ship high-quality software in a fast-moving environment. This role will focus on building out our data product capabilities as well as supporting our digital product platform.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:Design, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications, internal tools, and APIs that address real customer needsLeverage an AI first approach to accelerate development and build intelligent productsEvaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and tools to improve efficiencyDrive innovation and continuous improvement in the development processTranslate complex, ambiguous requirements from non-technical stakeholders into clear technical designs and working solutionsAssess technical feasibility of proposed requirements and communicate tradeoffs clearly to stakeholdersMaintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and long-term adoption of solutionsParticipate in cross team software guild(s) to improve Beta’s software organizationDevelop and collaborate with Software Architecture Leads to maintain long term technical designs and roadmapsWork with a team of software engineers to delivery high quality code in a regular release cadenceAcknowledge and learn from past mistakes, fostering a culture of continuous improvementMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field3-5 years of professional software engineering experienceExperience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex)Proficiency in modern full-stack development (e.g., React/TypeScript)Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and FargateExperience with modern web frameworks (ex: TanStack Start, NextJS, etc.)Experience with AWS CDKExperience with REST APIs, databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelinesDemonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt rapidly to changing requirementsAbove and Beyond Qualifications:Previous experience at a startup or in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environmentExperience building internal tools and enterprise applicationsExperience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a regulated industryTrack record of identifying, scoping, and delivering projects with minimal directionThe wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role.
