Environmental Service Tech

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Environmental Service Technician, you will be responsible for executing daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. You will interact with patients, visitors, clinical and non‑clinical staff, and ensure timely room turnovers while adhering to principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The Technician is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient experience. Responsibilities Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas. Demonstrate a working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements, including safe chemical use and equipment handling. Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment as outlined in the Standard Work cart set up, and remove waste to the appropriate disposal area, identifying proper waste streams (regulated medical, recycle, solid, hazardous) in accordance with procedures and regulations. Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of PPE.
