Telemetry Monitoring Tech, Varied - Southeast

Job Summary Coordinates and maintains specialized advanced technical skills, monitoring patients ECG rhythms, interpreting results, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team as determined by department procedure. Minimum Qualifications Education: Completion of a Telemetry Monitoring Technician education program or one (1) year of related experience. Licenses/Certifications: None required. Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of ECG rhythms, monitoring system, ability to review trends and alarms, and ability to perform duties requiring prolonged and/or extensive sitting, standing, and walking. Principal Accountabilities Provide precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic central monitoring station, documenting per established procedure. Interpret ECG rhythms and recognize significant ECG events. Escalate significant or life‑threatening changes immediately to a Registered Nurse and communicate information accurately within established timeframe. Obtain rhythm strips per hospital cardiac telemetry procedure; operate and troubleshoot all functions of the telemetry monitoring system; account for all monitors at the end of each assigned shift. Admit, transfer, and discharge patients and enter all required information in the telemetry monitoring system. Ensure the highest level of service according to established service standards, optimizing the patient experience. Successfully complete MHHS dysrhythmia examination. Perform other duties as assigned, within scope of responsibility and clinical competency. Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors and adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory and continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
