Details Medical step-down unit with 16-20 beds Patient ratio of 1:4 Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week No on-call responsibilities Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month Block scheduling generally not approved Requirements Active RN license (GA or Compact) Current BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a progressive care or step-down unit Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume Level 1 trauma center required Proven background managing complex, critical, and fast-paced cases Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to medically complex step-down patients in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates American Traveler Job ID P-749878.
