Job Summary Restaurant Cook – responsible for preparing high‑quality menu items and special event catering in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and present daily menu items and specialized orders, adhering to recipe specs, portion controls, and presentation guidelines. Conduct daily prep work, build stations, and coordinate with the culinary supervisor on menu counts and special requests. Maintain smooth, timely flow of food orders; communicate clearly with line cooks and front‑of‑house staff. Verify special orders and dietary restrictions with the supervisor for guest safety and satisfaction. Close, clean, and sanitize station at shift end according to health codes, organizing ingredients for next day. Track and control daily/weekly station inventories to minimize waste and optimize cost‑to‑profit ratios. Communicate ingredient levels, shortages, or supply needs to head cook or supervisor. Uphold Health and Sanitation standards, maintain workstation cleanliness, and report equipment issues. Maintain personal hygiene, clean uniform, groomed hair and nails. Arrive on time, fully dressed, punching in/out accurately, and coordinate meal breaks. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Proven experience as line cook, prep cook, or commis chef in high‑volume, premium or upscale dining kitchen. Ability to work autonomously at a station while staying motivated and results‑driven. Strong teamwork mindset with a “win‑together” approach. Solid foundational culinary knowledge: terminology, knife skills, cooking techniques, food safety protocols. Physical stamina for extended standing, bending, high‑temperature environments, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 35lb. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule tailored to hospitality needs. Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $22.03 – $27.54 per hour* (may vary by geographic location). Compensation may be influenced by market, experience, and qualification.
