CardioVascular Surgery Sr. Sales Rep - Louisiana

Position Overview Medtronic seeks a Sales Representative to drive revenue and market share for CardioVascular Surgery therapies within a designated territory. Responsibilities Conduct sales calls to promote and sell Medtronic CardioVascular Surgery therapies to existing and competitive customers based on a strategic plan. Develop, implement, and follow through with a quarterly strategic sales plan to achieve sales goals and objectives. Create a detailed forecast with customer commitments as a measure of success. Identify, qualify, and close new and existing customers consistent with established sales plans and key accounts. Maximize revenue potential by targeting specific customers to generate sales leads and develop business opportunities to drive growth. Develop and maintain expertise in CardioVascular Surgery therapies products. Provide feedback on competitive activity, market changes, distribution and pricing. Identify and communicate to other departments (e.g., R&D, Operations, Marketing) suggestions for new products or modifications to existing products based on customer needs. Coordinate customer activities at all assigned meetings. Train and educate customers on safe and effective use of Medtronic products. Complete all administrative reporting accurately and timely, including expense reports, account profiles, daily planners, weekly activity, competitive updates, and inventory logs. Manage time, assets, and resources cost‑effectively; manage the territory budget in accordance with the strategic plan and Regional Manager guidelines. Maintain adequate inventory (trunk stock) and assist in reallocation and delivery of product. Keep knowledge of current industry trends and all Medtronic products updated. Participate in required sales training. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of experience, OR Associate’s Degree and 6+ years of experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience. Relevant sales, clinical, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences. Earned Senior Representative level in another Medtronic Field Business. Desired/Preferred Qualifications: Local qualified candidates with Medtronic experience. Experience selling to surgeons and in the cardiac operating room. Track record of success in a high‑pressure selling environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding selling and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to forecast results effectively. Ability to plan and manage accounts and follow through with a strategic plan. For candidates with 10+ years of medical industry sales experience (selling physician preference products in a hospital environment with 8 years selling to interventional cardiology or cardiac surgeons), the position may be filled at the Principal level. Physical Job Requirements Frequent required travel to customer clinics, hospitals, and off‑site meetings. Independent mobility; ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to eight hours per day. Drive approximately 80% of the time within the assigned territory; approximate travel 10% of the time. Lifestyle and safety exposures include eye protection, infectious disease, and radiation.
