Cost Analyst

The Cost Analyst role is a vital member of the finance team, contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, conducting monthly and annual account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, participating in budgeting and forecasting, and providing tax support. The role requires exceptional analytical skills, detail orientation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity. Location: Hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC – expected to be onsite at least three days per week. Responsibilities Financial Reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements Monitor and reconcile accounts Assist with budgeting and forecasting Bookkeeping Record and maintain financial transactions Manage accounts payable and receivable Reconcile bank statements Assist with payroll processing Auditing Conduct internal audits on accounting Ensure compliance with financial regulations Identify and report any discrepancies or errors Financial Analysis Analyze financial data and provide insights Prepare financial reports and presentations as required Assist with financial planning and decision making Client Management Communicate with clients to gather financial information Provide financial advice and guidance Build and maintain client relationships Software Management Utilize accounting software for financial recording and reporting Train and assist colleagues on software usage Stay updated on new software and technology developments Team Collaboration Work with other departments to gather financial information Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and procedures Participate in team meetings and discussions Ad Hoc Projects Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed Conduct research and analysis for various business needs Identify and implement process improvements for increased efficiency High Impact Behaviors Continuous professional development and lifelong learning Collaboration and teamwork, valuing diverse perspectives Results‑driven performance, setting high standards and achieving objectives efficiently Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field with at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent work experience Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle), spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel), and strong understanding of GAAP Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and produce accurate financial reports Strong commitment to accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations Clear and effective communication skills for collaboration and explaining financial information to non‑financial individuals Strong sense of ethics and integrity, handling sensitive financial information responsibly Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with changes in tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards Salary: $70,000 to $90,000. Starting pay depends on skills, experience, and work location. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
