About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its newly established Financial Risk & Strategy function within the Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) business. The COO will play a pivotal role in the strategic implementation of the function, overseeing technology, risk infrastructure, and system processes to support growth initiatives. This includes driving accountability for the execution of strategic priorities, leading new product and initiative approval processes, and managing resources to ensure balance sheet and capital efficiency. The successful candidate will also be responsible for continuous improvement of risk governance and control processes, acting as a key liaison to identify and mitigate various risks, and supporting the transition readiness for Category II regulatory requirements. Applicants for the COO position should have a practical knowledge of FICC products and at least 15 years' of experience in FICC businesses, with a minimum of 3 years' in a leadership role. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in collaboration with support partners, experience in change management, and a proven track record in transformational initiatives. Preferred qualifications include experience with broker-dealer capital and funding frameworks, familiarity with regulatory transition requirements, and an advanced degree or CFA/MBA. The COO will be expected to ensure the FICC business operates efficiently and grows responsibly, with a focus on sales, trading, structuring, financing, and support functions across the various FICC product lines.
