Controls Systems Engineering Leader I

Responsibilities Supervise a team of Engineers performing hardware engineering, software engineering, and network level commissioning for projects. Schedule and manage the workload of the Systems Engineering Team, prioritizing work to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables. Provide time‑frame estimates and engineering cost estimates to project management for job cost evaluation. Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate team processes, strategies, and standards. Seek out new and creative applications and operational techniques; implement improvements in processes, facilities, tools, and equipment to enhance quality, reliability, and productivity. Deliver advanced technical support on application or implementation issues and serve as the regional expert in application engineering. Lead the team in selecting controllers and end devices that meet specifications while minimizing total installation cost to keep project cost below estimate. Utilize financial, contract management, and other reporting tools to evaluate team success. Maintain relationships with customers, consultants, and architect engineers and leverage these relationships during project development and execution. Maintain high engineering standards, promote reuse of proven designs and programs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Hire, retain, mentor, conduct performance management, and plan career development for direct reports. Prepare and deliver performance expectations, reviews, and development plans for direct reports. Collaborate with Major Projects and Branch teams to maximize successful execution of projects. Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of eight years of experience in application engineering, with a focus on HVAC industry and programming controls. Prior supervision of a technical or engineering group. Minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in the construction industry. Recognized as a leading expert in several core engineering competencies. Understanding of accounting principles and cost management. Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting technical material. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $100,100 - $140,350 (salary determined by education, experience, market data).
