Associate General Counsel, Legal (US)

Worldwide Clinical Trials seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters across global clinical research operations. This remote leadership role involves advising senior executives, managing clinical research agreements, overseeing regulatory obligations, and developing legal talent.
Responsibilities
- Advise General Counsel and leadership on complex legal, regulatory, commercial, and operational risks
- Lead strategic legal subject-matter areas and manage clinical research and sponsor agreement negotiations
- Partner with Business Development, Finance, and Clinical Operations to streamline contracting and accelerate business performance
- Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Regulatory teams on GxP and data integrity obligations
- Lead enterprise risk management, investigations, compliance initiatives, and governance programs; develop legal staff
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from accredited law school with active law license in good standing
- 8-12+ years progressively responsible legal experience in regulated life sciences
- Significant in-house counsel leadership in CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environment
- Expert-level commercial contracting knowledge for clinical research and sponsor agreements
- Strong working knowledge of clinical research regulations, GxP, data privacy, healthcare compliance
- Proven global matrixed organization leadership, coaching, and change management capabilities
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft 365, legal technology, workflow automation, and analytics tools
Compensation: $200,500–$398,500 annually
