Job Title: Quality Line Auditor / Quality Technician

Job Description

The Quality Line Auditor / Quality Technician plays a key role in ensuring that production lines consistently meet batch record requirements, product specifications, and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards. This position focuses on auditing, documentation, and process verification while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and lean practices within a diverse manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Audit production lines for conformance to Batch Records, product specifications, and cGMP requirements.
• Inspect manufacturing equipment to verify cleanliness and readiness for use.
• Perform audits on time with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Accurately record audit results in Batch Records and other required documentation.
• Initiate corrective adjustments to manufacturing processes when needed, document these adjustments, and perform documented rechecks to verify successful implementation.
• Escalate issues according to established procedures to ensure timely correction and effective containment.
• Immediately report non-conformances to the Quality Unit to support prompt resolution.
• Support investigations of quality events as needed to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Comply at all times with Standard Work, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
• Understand and maintain a culture of lean action within the department, consistently applying lean principles to daily work.
• Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
• Apply and utilize lean tools to drive permanent process improvements.
• Institutionalize 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in all aspects of the department.
• Perform quality inspections, visual inspections, and internal audits as required.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure quality checks are integrated into daily operations.
• Perform other work as assigned to support overall quality and production goals.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma required.
• Prior auditing or inspection experience preferred.
• Prior quality assurance or quality control exposure preferred.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles.
• Experience with quality inspection, quality checks, and visual inspection in a production environment.
• Familiarity with cGMP requirements and quality systems.
• Ability to follow and comply with SOPs, Standard Work, and Work Instructions.
• English reading and writing skills required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to beauty, bath and body, lip balms, skincare, sunscreens, cleaning detergents, or similar products is beneficial.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and other cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This position is based at a manufacturing facility in Chaska and operates on a second shift schedule, typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a shift differential. Depending on business needs and incoming components, 5–10 hours of overtime per week may be required, and the frequency and amount of overtime may vary. The role may require work hours beyond the normal workday, particularly when business demands and tight deadlines arise. The work is cyclical in nature and involves moderate interruptions, starting and stopping based on production and customer requirements.

The work is performed indoors in conditions that can be seasonally cold, hot, and humid. The environment includes exposure to various fragrances, which at times may be at elevated levels. The role involves frequent standing and walking for 4 to 6 hours per day and moving and lifting objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds frequently. Employees may also perform infrequent to moderate bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, grasping, and repetitive hand and wrist motions. Work at a computer terminal occurs on an infrequent to moderate basis.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chaska,MN.
