Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Business Analytics

The Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Business Analytics supports financial reporting, operational accounting, business analytics, and financial analysis functions. This role blends advanced accounting responsibilities with financial reporting and business intelligence to ensure accurate financial reporting, provide meaningful insights, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards for management.
• Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and business insights.
• Prepare preliminary financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for financial results.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Develop recurring and ad hoc financial analyses.

General Ledger & Accounting Operations

• Maintain the General Ledger and supporting subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Research accounting issues and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audits.

Inventory, Purchasing & Intercompany Accounting

• Monitor inventory valuation, costing, and manufacturing variances.
• Analyze Purchase Order Clearing accounts and purchasing activity.
• Prepare intercompany reconciliations and support consolidated reporting.
• Partner with Operations and Purchasing to improve accounting processes.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Develop dashboards and reporting tools using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting systems.
• Monitor financial and operational KPIs.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to management.
• Improve reporting automation and data visualization.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting and reporting activities.
• Develop standardized reporting packages and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Support ERP enhancements and reporting system improvements.

Performance Expectations:

• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Maintain audit-ready reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies proactively.
• Provide meaningful financial insights to support business decisions.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting or financial analysis.
• Skills: Strong Excel, ERP systems, GAAP knowledge, and analytical capabilities.
