The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Progressive Care Unit is a 32-bed general surgical unit. The unit offers three levels of care: Floor, Telemetry, and Intermediate Medical Care (IMC). Services provided include IMC patient arrythmia management, BiPAP/CPAP, bedside bronchoscopy, Thoracic surgery (lung resections, pneumonectomy, esophagectomy), Trauma, Urology (RRP, TURP), and a variety of other general surgery patients. The Registered Nurse Lead (RN) will help lead different initiatives and support the Nurse Manager in the day-to-day operations of the unit, provide resources to staff and help provide patient care. This role is vital in ensuring the unit runs smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Nursing required
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required
• RN work experience required; 2 years of PCU or higher acuity experience preferred
• The ability to provide guidance and direction to staff and acts in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager to oversee a clinical team during care delivery and unit operations.

Salary Range: Minimum 47.96/hour - Maximum 74.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
