This role supports a high-volume production manufacturing environment focused on plastic extrusion and related operations. You will monitor and support the production line, ensure accurate documentation of orders, and help maintain consistent product quality. The position involves working with machinery, handling materials, and performing routine quality checks to keep production running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee the production of plastic parts in a manufacturing setting, ensuring consistent output and adherence to specifications.
• Legibly write and record production information, including tracking order details and documenting what is currently running or has been completed.
• Pull part tickets as needed to support current and upcoming production runs, ensuring correct materials and orders are processed.
• Watch and tend production machinery, promptly addressing basic issues such as jams or misfeeds and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Keep parts organized throughout the production process, maintaining a clean and orderly work area to support efficient workflow.
• Stack, stage, and palletize finished parts in an orderly and secure manner for storage or shipment.
• Use rulers and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet required measurements and tolerances.
• Lift materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift as part of daily production tasks.
• Walk up and down a short set of stairs to load hoppers and support extrusion operations as needed.
• Perform hourly or as-needed quality checks on parts, including visual inspection and measurement, to confirm they meet quality standards.
• Assist with general production line activities such as assembly, packaging, and line setup to keep operations running smoothly.
• Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and correctly in support of production, assembly, and fabrication tasks.
• Support machine operation activities, including extrusion and related processes, under established procedures and guidance.
• Perform cleaning and basic housekeeping tasks in the production area to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Collaborate with team members and work independently when required, staying on task and maintaining productivity throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety procedures, including use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to safe lifting and equipment-handling practices.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of manufacturing (MFG) experience in a production, assembly, or general production environment.
• Ability to legibly write and accurately track order and production information.
• Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure and rulers to verify dimensions.
• Ability to pass a math, ruler, and measuring test with a score of 90% or higher.
• Comfort lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per shift.
• Ability to perform regular quality checks and maintain focus on product quality throughout the shift.
• Experience with general production line work such as assembly, packaging, line production, and line assembly.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools used in production and assembly.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team while staying on task and meeting production goals.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Basic experience with quality checks, quality control, inspection, and general measuring tasks in a production setting.
• Willingness and ability to work on different shifts as scheduled within a 24-hour production operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous machine operation experience, including extrusion or similar processes, is preferred.
• Experience in plastic extrusion or injection molding environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools is helpful.
• Experience in warehouse packing, line setup, and general labor in a manufacturing setting is an advantage.
• Experience with cleaning and maintaining production areas contributes positively.
• Comfort working in extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation as assigned.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain organized work areas and parts staging.
• Willingness to adapt to new processes and cross-train in other departments as opportunities arise.

Work Environment

The role is based in a plastic extrusion facility that also values experience with injection molding. The plant floor is older but maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and has recently been expanded to include three new extrusion lines and a larger warehouse and parts staging area. You may be assigned to extrusion, extrusion operation, or fabrication operation depending on production needs. The facility operates across three shifts: first shift runs from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., second shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and third shift from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The work involves regular use of measuring tools such as tape measures, rulers, calipers, and gauges, along with hand tools and basic power tools. Duties include heavy lifting, stacking, palletizing, and moving materials in a production and warehouse environment. The plant emphasizes safety and cleanliness, and steel-toe footwear is required as part of the standard dress code.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterville, OH.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Waterville,OH.
