About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Med/Surg Telemetry License: Current and valid State License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in Med/Surg Telemetry - Ability to float as needed Description: Current and valid driver's license or state-issued ID required. Utility bill in the traveler's name with matching address required, dated within the last three months. Address must be greater than 75 miles from contracted facility. No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted. Years of experience required: 2 Years. First-timers accepted. Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs is necessary. Open to accommodating block schedule requests: No. Local candidates are not accepted. Pending state licenses are not accepted. COVID-19 Vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions only. Flu Vaccine required with medical or religious exemptions only. Previous charge experience is preferred. Patient ratio experience is required: 6 patients. Charting system experience preferred; charting system name: Epic. Travel experience is not required. Skills: - Bariatric surgery - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Chest tube management - Continuous bladder irrigation - Cerebrovascular accident management - Feeding tube care and management - Heparin protocols - Interpretation of arterial blood gases - Isolation precautions and PPE - Medical/surgical telemetry - Non-invasive airway management - Oxygen administration - PCA management - Phlebotomy - PICC line management - Renal failure management - Seizure disorder care - Starting and maintaining IVs - Telemetry and remote monitoring - Tracheostomy care/management - Use of rapid response and code teams Unit Details: Staffing and scheduling follow a self-scheduling model. Patient ratios are 6 for days, nights, and weekends. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Daily census is approximately 24 patients. The unit cares for adults and geriatric patients with various diagnoses including neuro and bariatric conditions. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
