About the Position

Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: NY license required in hand to submit Certifications: BLS, CST required Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Description: Responsible for assisting in surgical procedures. Ensures all surgical instruments are sterile and available. Works collaboratively with the surgical team. Communicates effectively with patients and staff. Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes is essential. Experience in a variety of surgical procedures is preferred. Must be able to float between different areas as needed. Will assist in patient preparation and recovery. Familiarity with community hospitals is a plus. Must have the ability to follow established protocols and workflows. Understanding of equipment documentation and sterilization/disinfection practices is critical. Patient demographics include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily case load and patient ratios will vary based on the operating room schedule. Participation in continuous education and training is encouraged. Flexibility in scheduling may be required. Adherence to safety and health standards is mandatory. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.
