Sr. Project Manager - W/WW Transmission and Utilities

Freese and Nichols is looking for Sr. Project Manager – W/WW Transmission and Utilities in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you’ll lead complex W/WW conveyance and utility projects and serve as a trusted project manager for Charlotte-area utilities. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver high-quality solutions, and help grow key client relationships in a market where credibility and follow-through matter.What You’ll DoLead W/WW transmission and utilities projects from planning through design and delivery.Build and maintain strong relationships as a trusted project manager for Charlotte-area utilities.Direct multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to deliver work that meets scope, schedule, and budget.Make independent engineering decisions on complex problems and adapt methods and techniques to fit project needs.Manage project execution, including risk management, change management, and clear communication with stakeholders.Oversee quality control for technical deliverables, reports, and contract requirements.Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff through coaching, review, and feedback.Support business development by contributing to pursuits, proposals, and client strategy for key accounts.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) registration.8+ years of experience.Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.Ability to communicate clearly with clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders.PreferredEstablished credibility and trusted relationships with Charlotte-area utilities.Experience delivering W/WW transmission and utilities work (for example, conveyance programs, transmission mains, pump stations, lift stations, or condition assessment/rehabilitation planning tied to conveyance systems).Demonstrated seller-doer strengths, including client development and growing key accounts.Experience administering and implementing contracts for complex consulting engagements.Active participation in relevant professional organizations and continuing education.About Freese and NicholsAt the heart of our culture is our LEADS values (Learn continuously, Engage as family, Act with integrity, Deliver quality, and Serve always).
