Summary: The Ward Clerk provides clerical support and assistance to Nursing Department.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience in Nursing Environment.
- 1-2 years office experience.
Job Functions:
- Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit.
- Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit.
- Communicates with Doctors, families, and residents in a professional manner.
- Accurately file resident records in their charts.
- Assist the nursing team in documentation.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.
- Must be organized and can follow directions.
- Ability to be patient and polite.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
