Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards. Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating. Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments. The facility includes a modernized maternity services program with labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and a 24‑bed Level III NICU, supporting 2,400 deliveries and 500 NICU admissions annually. Job Requirements Required Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) from the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Fire Safety, within 90 Days of hire Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing 1 to 3 years of acute care experience Where You'll Work Dignity Health at California Hospital Medical Center is a 318‑bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles.
